50 Years from Now, If Predictions* are True.
We’ll ride in computer-driven cars, fly in pilot-less aircraft, and walk on Mars without leaving home. Our homes will have intelligent appliances and personal satellite links. And we'll live substantially longer lives with new classes of healthier foods and pharmaceuticals.
If this is the case, many of our people - our most valuable assets - will celebrate INDEVCO’s
100th anniversary.
Think about it... When we reflect on the changes to come, we're reminded that the uncompromising values rooted in INDEVCO’s industrial development and management concept since 1955 will continue to guide us as the true North Compass over the next 50 years.
Our autonomous general managers will grow adaptable organizations to evolve in fast-moving times. They’ll become even more effective and timely at negotiating and reaching consensus on business growth agendas, at the same time encourage multiple points of view and develop our people resources to truly benefit from these changing times.
As a cohesive group, we’ll continue to capture operational synergies within our core business divisions by sharing best practices and leveraging procurement and suppliers. We’ll build centers of excellence to meet division requirements and better serve regional and multinational customers. All these will enable us to become even better citizens to serve the communities in which we operate.
I don’t know about walking on Mars. It’ll take some time to see if Popular Mechanics* is right about its predictions. In 1950, though, they accurately foretold that we'd be using microwave ovens and fax machines - even shopping online - at the turn of the new century.
But the things that never change, universal constants other than those of Plank and his colleagues, are those virtues that transcend generations. Courage. Loyalty. Goodness. Courteousness. Sacrifice. These will be our sources of inspiration over the next 50 years.
