A customer – or one of her kids – wrestles with the bag in a new box of cereal. By the time it tears, the kitchen floor is covered with corn flakes. They salvage what is left in the bag but discover that the cereal is stale or, much worse, crawling with small creatures.

No matter how attractive the design of an outer cereal box is or how much kids beg their moms for the box with their favorite characters, the inner cereal liner has the power to “make or break” whether Mom pulls one brand off the store shelf – or another.

Masterpak, an INDEVCO flexible packaging plant, has introduced co-extruded, transparent HDPE inner liners for manufacturers of cereals, dry dessert mixes, such as cake, cookie, pancake and biscuit mixes, pudding mix and dry condiments.

Masterpak’s inner liners feature a peel-able seal for easy-to-open bags. High moisture barrier properties keep cereals crispy and tasty and extend product shelf life. With a strong air-tight seal, inner liners keep food odor inside the bag and, thus, free from critters.

Masterpak’s inner liners can be efficiently used on high-speed Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) and side-seal machines to meet manufacturers’ specific requirements.
